Just catching up on blog posts now I have my computer back and running, 6 days without it is way too long!!!!!

I photographed this family over a week ago, my first family session for the year. Such gorgeous children, little ‘Miss M’ has the most amazing huge big brown eyes and her little brother has stunning big blue eyes. He was so cute as soon as I met him he came and held my hand. Here’s a few of my fav’s from our session.

First Newborn of the Year

What better way to start the year off than with a gorgeous newborn little girl. Little Miss C was such a good girl for me and slept pretty much most of the time during our session (apparently that was not the story the previous day so Mummy says, LOL). Thank you S & H for having me in your home to photograph your gorgeous baby. It is such a special time those first precious few weeks when they are bonding with their new baby, I just love seeing the look of sheer and utter love on Mummy & Daddys faces.

Malaysia & Thailand 2010

We have just returned Sunday from our amazing family trip to Malaysia & Thailand. Wow what a fantastic holiday, such an incredible experience for us all. The kids had an absolute ball and got to experience so many things. It was just so nice to have the 2 1/2 weeks just spent by ourselves and the kids with no computers, x-boxes or other disruptions around. Good quality family time which sometimes is hard to come by. As they have all gone back to school yesterday it was very quiet and dare i say lonely at our house. So now I am home I have the task of sorting through the hundreds and hundreds of photos I have taken. There are so many highlights from our trip, here are just a few.

The kids at Patong Beach, Phuket

The kids spent quite a few afternoons on these inflatable water toys, while we sat back on the beach relaxing, having a beer and the odd foot massage, amazing!!

Got up a bit earlier for this shot as i wanted to get a picture of all the deck chairs before everyone sat on them.

This is what it looks like several hours later, here’s john in his element icy cold beer and a foot massage, life doesn’t get much better than this!!

One of my highlights was sitting on the beach in the evening watching the kids have fun and taking in the amazing sunsets!!

A favourite of all of ours Elephant trekking John, always the Real Estate Salesman!!!!!

This was one of them if i hadn’t seen it I wouldn’t of believed it., this baby Elephant actually painted this picture of an Elephant in front of us then signed his name

Oh wow, Jen. What amazing photos. Loving the elephant shots, esp since hearing your personal telling of the story lol. I can totally see John sitting there with the beer and making deals on the phone, haha. Too funny.

It looks like you had an amazing time. I went to Thailand a few years ago, I started at the bottom and worked my way up, then over to Cambodia and Vietnam. After this I headed in to Laos and then in to the north of Thailand.

When in Laos I managed to pick up quite a bit of the local language which I then used in northern Thailand as it is a dialect there - the local Thai people were very impressed with me for this!

Your photos reminded me of some of the places I visited and it was really good to read about your trip.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010 – 12: 02

Just wanting to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas spent with your family and friends. We had a wonderful Christmas, the best part was we surprised our kids with a suitcase each, some spending money and a iternary for our surprise family trip to Malaysia and Thailand for which we leave home tomorrow. We have been planning this trip secretly for over 6 months now and I can’t tell you how many times I nearly let the cat out of the bag. We are all beyond excited and I am so looking forward to spending lots of quality time with my family, away from computers and Xboxes. I am really looking forward to taking heaps of photos and if i can get internet along the way will upload a few here as we go.

For my clients I will be checking emails when I can and will be back end of January.

2010 has a great ring to it, I think it’s going to be a great year! It also marks 10 years since we left New Zealand, wow that has gone fast then again in some ways it seems we have been here forever.

A Year in Review

Wow, what a year 2009 has been and can you believe we area the end of it!!. They seem to get faster and faster every year.

I just wanted to say a big ‘Thank you’ to all my wonderful clients this year, it truly has been a great year and it has been wonderful to see so many past clients back again, it is an absolute pleasure seeing how much your babies and children have grown over the past year or so. It also warms my heart so much that you trust me to capture this special time in your lives. It is a job I honesty just love, I just wish I was a photographer when my children were babies so I could have wonderful memories like this of them.

I seriously cannot wait for Christmas day to arrive I just love Christmas morning and this year we have a big surprise in store for our family, that we have been planning for months and am busting to tell them.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your families and friends, good food and good heath and a wonderful year ahead for 2010. I have put together this slideshow with some images from the past year, so pour yourself a glass of your favourite drink, turn your speakers on and sit back and relax.

Last session of the year

And what a session it was…….5 kids, numerous adults = crazy hectic, just like this time of year, LOL. Things didn’t go quite as planned but when you are working with children that’s just how it is. You truly can never guess how it’s going to go or what sort of images you will get, one of the challenges we face in this job! Having photographed all these children before it was lovely to see how much they have grown over the year. I love these family ones we got. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

And isn’t he just the cutest!!! Meet Master *T*, I photographed him in his Mummies tummy just recently, and also photographed his Mummy & Daddies wedding earlier this year. He has two big brothers to help look after him. E & G it was lovely to meet your new bub, you have had a very eventful year what with the wedding, the move and now your gorgeous new baby.
