Custom photography is an experience. It’s more than just a photograph. Custom photography caters to you, the client. So choosing your photographer is a personal choice, not only do you need to think about how much you want to Invest, you want to make sure their style resonates with you. I say the word ‘Invest’ because I believe photography is an Investment, an Investment in your family’s memories. In 10, 20 years time you’ll look back at these photographs perhaps with a tear in your eye and reminisce of how your children/family has grown and changed over the years.
My Newborn and Family Sessions have a $150 session fee is due at the time of booking in order to reserve your session date. After your session, you will receive a private online gallery to view and order from, containing approximately 40 - 60 images. Digital photographs and print products are purchased separately.

When is the best time to book a Newborn Session?
The best time to book a Newborn Session is whilst you are still pregnant. Since we don’t know exactly when baby will arrive, I put your due date in my diary then once baby arrives a session date is then confirmed. Pre booked clients have preference over dates than those not booked. Payment of the Session fee secures your due date in my diary.
How long does a Session last?
With Newborns I say to allow 2-3 hours, this gives us enough time in case baby needs to be fed or settled.
Portrait Sessions usually 1 hour, depends on how many people.
My baby is already two weeks old, is it too late to book?
Depending on my schedule, I usually have a day aside for last minute bookings, that said Ideally the best time to photograph Newborns is within the first two weeks, ideally 6-10 days. This is when babies are most comfortable, sleepy and content during a session. After this, Newborns can become more alert and sometimes develop wind and reflux issues which can interfere with their comfort during sessions, but that said we can definitely photograph your baby if he/she is older.
What is the best time of day for my Newborn Session??
I always hold my Newborn Sessions at 9am. After my years of experience I have found that is the best time for baby's.
What is the best time for my Portrait Session??
My outdoor Sessions are held in the late afternoon, usually 1 1/2 hours before sunset, this is the best time of day and has the most gorgoeus light.
What should I wear to my Newborn Session??
Parents, I suggest light netural colours, Mum’s I always say what you feel comfortable in there is nothing better than lovely soft colours with that brand new bundle. Dad's, siblings, neutral colours again and something that compliments Mum's outfit.
What should I wear for my Portrait Session?
The goal is to keep the attention on the subjects, not clothes. So I suggest to avoid large prints/logos and clothes with characters on them as they date. I also find that having a common colour theme through everyone’s clothing makes for much better looking images! I suggest to lay all the clothes out on the bed and imagine if one person was wearing it, would it look pleasing?
**Terms & Conditions**
The Session Fee must be received within 7 days of booking your session to secure your requested time and date.
All images are copyrighted by the photographer Jenny Ruddle. It is illegal to copy or scan any images without permission from the photographer. Even though the images may be of your child, the photographer still owns the copyright to the image.
Please let Jenny know if you do not wish for your imagess to be used in advertising such as blog posts, facebook, instagram advertising etc.
Prices are subject to change without notice and are non-negotiable. Prices are guaranteed for 30 days after your session. Due to the custom nature of photographic products, no refunds will be issued. By hiring Jenny Ruddle Photography, you agree to these terms.
All unordered images from your session are deleted after one month from your gallery going live. If you need an extension on your gallery please let me know prior to your gallery expiring. After this time the gallery will be archived offsite - this means a fee of $50 applies to re-open the gallery. All unordered images/galleries will be removed from Archival after 60 days, therefor no longer available.
